Join us for Farm to City on the rooftop of the Ecotrust building, Wednesday, October 2nd from 6 to 8 pm. We’re bringing our farm-based curriculum to the city through a unique menu of food and drink. On the farm kids learn about pollinators. At Farm to City you’ll taste the fruits of their labor in Ruby Jewel‘s Honey Lavender ice cream. The Grow Lunch Garden is a row on the farm planted, tended and harvested by visiting school children where they taste herbs and edible flowers. At Farm to City you’ll taste them too, only they’ll be featured elements in specialty herb-infused cocktails created by Merit Badge, an artisan cocktail company. The menu, provided by Edible Portland’s 2012 Local Hero and Presenting Sponsor Food Front Cooperative Grocery, includes plenty of seasonal, farm-fresh goodies like fig, goat cheese and walnut tapenade on seeded crackers, chicken skewers with roasted root vegetables and house-made pesto, caprese bruchetta, spanikopita with spinach and kale and much more. Our specialty cocktail is the Apiary: Monopolowa Vodka, cucumber, lime, honey and herbs from our Grow Lunch Garden (a row on the farm planted, tended and harvested by visiting elementary school children).
Proceeds will benefit the Sauvie Island Center. Ticket price is $30 and includes entrance to the rooftop event and heavy appetizers. Beer, wine and specialty cocktails will be available for purchase. Don’t wait. Ticket prices increase to $35 on 9/30.
