volunteering is good for you!

100_8091Whether you’re looking for a volunteer opportunity that will get you outside, or an internship to round out your skills and experience, we’ve got a few different ways you can get involved with Sauvie Island Center.  Volunteer Farm Educators lead small groups of children through hands-on, farm-based lessons in healthy soil, pollination, plant identification and more. If you like working with children and enjoy being outdoors, volunteering with Sauvie Island Center is sure to be a rewarding way for you to contribute. Training for fall 2017 Volunteer Farm Educators is scheduled for Thursday, 9/8 or Friday, 9/9. To learn more, or to register, visit Volunteer Farm Educator.

If you’d like to earn college credit while gaining valuable experience working as an outdoor educator, then our Farm Education Internship could be for you. Interns will receive college credit (must be arranged with your school), experience teaching outdoor education programs, knowledge of Pacific Northwest ecosystems, organic farming practices and possibly a small stipend.  If interested, click here for details.
