Fatima Oswald, Board Member
I’m on the Board of the Sauvie Island Center because I want every child in the Portland area to see food growing on a farm and pull it from the earth with their own two hands. An educational day out at the farm allows kids to taste vegetables straight from the field and experience a science-based day covering topics such as healthy soil, the food web, and pollination.
More than half of the kids we serve each year are seeing a farm for the first time and, having their only day of outdoor education. Please, join me in helping us to expand this great program.
Thanks – Fatima
Help us grow.
For more than 10 years, the Sauvie Island Center has helped Portland-area children dig into the dirt and learn about food and farming through our educational programs on the Sauvie Island Organics farm and in Metro’s Howell Territorial Park.
Join the Seedling Society – our monthly giving program. Membership is the most efficient way to support our work, putting more of your money directly into farm time for children.
