One of my goals in returning to graduate school in 2014 was to affect positive change in our food system, and with that in mind I recently joined the board of the Sauvie Island Center. Introducing kids to fresh vegetables and the farmers who grow them is a huge step in the right direction. For many of the program’s students, the trip to the Sauvie Island Center is their first experience with planting, harvesting and eating fresh picked vegetables. But more than half of the Center’s students need scholarship assistance in order to participate. Please join me in providing financial support for this wonderful organization, and help give more kids the chance to experience Oregon’s bounty first-hand.
Thanks! – Rich

For more than 10 years, the Sauvie Island Center has helped Portland-area children dig into the dirt and learn about food and farming through our educational programs on the Sauvie Island Organics farm and in Metro’s Howell Territorial Park.
