Topaz Farm Family Field Trip Day

Join us on Wednesday, October 6th for a special morning of learning, growing and fun on Topaz Farm.

Guests will visit staffed stations in the Grow Lunch Garden and learn about:
– Soil Exploration: It all starts with the soil! Dig in, look for red wiggler worms and learn all about soil health.
– Plant Parts: What parts of plants do we eat and how do the different parts of the plant help it to grow?
– Seed to Harvest: What is the life cycle of a plant? Find out when you harvest tomatoes, parsnips and more in the Sauvie Island Center’s own living classroom on Topaz Farm.
Family Field Trips are designed for elementary school-aged children, but all ages are welcome with appropriate supervision.  The Sauvie Island Center hosts Family Field Trips every Wednesday and the fee is typically $10 to $25 per family.  But on Wednesday, October 6th the event will be free, thanks to the generous support of Topaz Farm!
For information on all Family Field Trips, visit Sauvie Island Center.  Due to Covid restrictions, registration is required.
