Family Farm Day: Soil Exploration

Family Farm Day: Friday, November 11th at 10 AM on Topaz Farm.

Ewwww!! AWESOME!!!” is something you might hear children scream during a typical Soil and Compost lesson.

It all starts with soil.

Gardens. Seeds. Roots. Fungi. Bacteria. Compost. Every plant you eat has needed to stretch their roots in that nutrient-dense topsoil.

At our upcoming Family Farm Day, we invite you to dig into our Worm Bin and explore the world beneath your boots. Meet some creepy-crawlies and all the slimy, moldy, fuzzy friends responsible for transforming rotting death into nutrition for the living. Every worm bin is an ecosystem unto itself.

Family Farm Days are brought to you by Remax Equity Group and our hosts at Topaz Farm.

Stick around after the event for an afternoon of fun, hayrides and pumpkin picking at our beautiful home on Topaz Farm.

Registration $5-$15 suggested donation is requested, but not required.

We’ll be outside, on a working farm, all morning. Please dress appropriately!

Our Field Address at Topaz Farm is 17100 NW Sauvie Island Rd, Portland, OR 97231

See you there!
